Directions to the
wedding site
Here is a list of hotels in the area. We have reserved rooms at
some of them and noted the date that the rooms will be released.
Be sure to ask for a room in the wedding block, because they may
be otherwise all booked. (And note that for the chains, you'll need
to call the local franchise's number listed below, not their
national toll-free reservation number.)
Note the date each block will be released. It's worth trying
after that, but the sooner you reserve a room the better! And note,
too, that a few of the options—including the two Marriott
hotels—require a two-night stay.
And don't forget that it's also an option to stay in a
cabin at the camp where all the
wedding events will be held.

Norwich Inn

This is a beautifully restored Victorian-era inn roughly 25 minutes
from the camp. They are holding 17 rooms—8 regular rooms in the main
house ($169–$219 a night), 4 suites in their "vestry" annex
($149–$174 a night), and 5 rooms in their motel annex ($109 a
night). The rates are for one or two people per room; each extra
guest beyond two is an additional $10. Meals are not included in the
room rates, but the inn has a full restaurant. Dogs are welcome in
one of the motel rooms. The block will be released on August 18.

This is a charming, comfortable B&B-style place roughly 15 minutes
from the camp. They are holding 12 rooms—6 in the main house
($79–$99 a night), plus 6 cottages ($99 a night). Includes
continental breakfast with home-made baked goods. Well-behaved pets
are welcome in the cottages. The block will be released on April
30.

This is a high-end chain motel, roughly 30 minutes from the camp;
all rooms have a microwave and mini-fridge. They are holding 10
rooms ($189 a night for a king bed, $199 for two queens). It is a
100% non-smoking hotel. Includes continental breakfast. Free
high-speed internet access. Fitness center and indoor pool. The
block will be released on July 18.
Residence Inn

This is a high-end suite-style chain, roughly 30 minutes from the
camp; all rooms have a full kitchen. They are holding 15 rooms—3
1-bedroom units ($169 a night) and 12 studios ($159 a night). It is
a 100% nonsmoking hotel. Includes a hot and cold buffet breakfast.
Free high-speed internet access. Exercise room, spa, and indoor
pool. Pets are allowed for a one-time fee (for the entire stay) of
$75. The block will be released on August 18.

This is a nice chain motel, roughly 30 minutes from the camp. They
are holding 10 rooms ($159 a night). Includes continental breakfast.
Free high-speed internet access. Exercise room and indoor pool. Pets
are welcome, with a credit card as a guarantee against damage. The
block will be released on August 18.

This is a nice suite-style chain, roughly 30 minutes from the camp;
the rooms have a sitting area with sofabed and a microwave and
mini-fridge. It is a 100% nonsmoking hotel. They are holding 10
rooms—5 with a king bed, 5 with two queens ($139 a night for Friday
and Saturday; ask for their rack rate of $119 for Thursday or
Sunday). Includes continental breakfast. Free high-speed internet
access. Fitness room and access to an indoor pool. No pets. The
block will be released on August 18.

This is a mid-range—not fancy but clean and comfortable—chain motel,
roughly 40 minutes from the camp. They are holding 10 rooms —8
nonsmoking and 2 smoking ($85 a night). Includes continental
breakfast. Free high-speed internet access. Outdoor pool and access
to a nearby fitness center. Pets are welcome with advance notice for
an additional $10 a night. The block will be released on August 1.

This is a basic—not fancy but clean and comfortable—chain motel,
roughly 30 minutes from the camp. They are holding 12 rooms—11
nonsmoking and 1 smoking ($79 a night). Includes continental
breakfast. Pets are welcome. The block will be released on August
31.
Additional Lodging Options
Want to check out additional options? There are lots of other
hotels/motels/B&Bs in the area. We chose the ones above to reserve
blocks at because we know from experience or reputation that they
offer a good price-to-amenities ratio, and they are conveniently
located for the wedding. However, if the block at your preferred
option is filled or you'd like to consider some other possibilities,
here are some other places you can try.
The first three offer lovely, luxurious accommodations and are on
the high end pricewise. And the next two—the Fairlee Motel and the
Half-Acre Motel—are very economical options, offering a clean, basic
room at a very reasonable price. The rest of the options cover the
gamut.
